HOUSTON TEXAS: UPDATE ON NADIDE:

NADIDE IS NOW IN A FOSTER HOME!! YAY! WE WILL POST UPDATES ON HER SOON!

We first posted an urgent message last week about this poor girl that was on death row in a Houston shelter.
It was a frantic day with a lot of emails and phone calls going back and forth but, thanks to the efforts of many dedicated rescuers, we were able to put a "hold" on her and she was taken off the kill list.

This once nameless dog is now known as "Nadide" (pronounced Na-deed) which is Turkish for "Precious, worthy of rescue".
Dr. Pat Cooper, who is partial to Turkish names, felt that was a fitting name as she certainly is worthy of rescue.

Dr. Pat took Miss Nadide to a Houston area boarding kennel where she is being cared for until we can find a foster home for her.
She is extremely malnourished and her back legs look rather deformed right now. Dr. Pat feels they will get better, though, with good nutrition and time.

She is literally skin and bones yet was nursing two babies. Her babies, btw, have also been rescued, thankfully.

Nadide has a long road ahead of her. She is heartworm positive and also has mange. NASRN will treat her for both and is dedicated to getting her back on her feet.

Top priority is to stabilize her, physically, and get her into a foster home where she can rest, recuperate and get a lot of TLC.

Her bills will be high and NASRN would appreciate any donations to help with her care. You can either make a Paypal donation or mail a check to:

Nadide is not strong enough for a long transport right now so we are hoping to find a foster for her that is within an easy day's drive from Houston.

Heaven only knows what she has been through and how she managed to keep herself and her babies alive. She is a survivor, though, and in her face, you can see she still has hope.

If you'd like more information on Nadide or just want to check in to see how she is doing, you can email me at nasrn@nasrn.com
